Over time, women’s priorities have changed. Today are one more or less long studies and a demanding career are crucial elements in the life of parents who want to offer their offspring optimal living conditions. The desire to have children
does not all occur at the same time; many factors can trigger or delay it.

Social pressure often plays a crucial role. The decision to have a baby has to be made in pairs. When a partner has fears or doubts, give yourself time to think and talk about them. However, you shouldn’t wait too long, because fertility decreases with age. According to doctors, the ideal age for pregnancy is between 25 and 29 years. At 25, women are at the peak of their fertility and the risk of complications for both mother and child is lowest.
A woman’s biology is not designed for pregnancy after 40. After this age, complications can arise for both mother and baby. For a 20-year-old woman, the risk of having a child with Down’s syndrome is 1 in 1,500. By the age of 35, it increases to 1 in 360 and by the age of 40, it increases to 1 in 100.

While late pregnancy can have its drawbacks, it also offers clear advantages. Older women are more sensible, take extra care of their bodies, and do not smoke or drink during pregnancy to protect their own health and that of their baby. Their professional and financial situation is often more comfortable than they were when they were 20, and most of the time they are in a stable relationship with their partner. Your husbands are more mature, more attentive, and share a desire to raise a family.

So when is the ideal time to have a baby? It is different for every woman. It is important that you feel good mentally and in life, ask the right questions at the right time and be sure that you will not regret the decision.
